Haines Pipe Shop on S. George St. in downtown York, PA is the oldest continuously operating tobacconist in the U.S. The shop was recently acquired by a Cuban gentleman who was a roller for Cohiba in Habana. You can purchase his hand rolled cigars at the shop and often he and his wife are rolling in the store. They also have Cuban Festivals several times during the year where rolling demonstrations are accompanied by authentic Cuban food and drink. If you get to know him, Jesus may be inclined to teach your boyfriend how to roll, but after watching him roll and understanding the process, I can tell you it is much more complicated than rolling a "bone".

I have to tell you, my first visit to The Humidour was quite impressive. Despite the torrential downpour, everyone seemed to find room to chat and the atmosphere was very upbeat. The new shop is gorgeous and very comfortable. The food was excellent, and the customer service was no less. Thanks for hosting wonderful event. I'm looking forward to coming back down soon.

Hi my boyfriend and I have been to your shop many times and love it. I am not a smoker, but he is. I want to find a shop were you can roll your own cigars. I want to take him to an event like that. I think he would really love to smoke a cigar that he made. Do you know of any place were we can go or will you have a cigar rolling event at your shop .

Morton's The Steakhouse in Baltimore is hosting a final cigar dinner on Thursday, January 31, 2008, the last night smoking is allowed in most Maryland restaurants and bars. If hearsay that new location is triple the size, bravo! I'm happy that business is good and hope it increases. Looking forward to learning the details as they naturally develop, especially about the walk-in humidor & stock, storage lockers and possible cigar lounge.

Ok, spill the beans, whereabouts is this new store going to be located? And will it have a bigger cigar lounge? I can't wait to check out the new digs!

One drawback is that I liked having Rita's next to the Humidour-made for some one-stop shopping!

I agree. It was my first time at SOTW! Everything was excellent, from the food to the music to the cigars. A job well done!
