The Humidour Cigar Shoppe is proud to host the joint meeting of the Chesapeake Pipe Club and the Baltimore Briar Pipe Club. The Pipe Clubs' meeting is typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 7 - 9 PM.
Members are encouraged to come early so they can make their selections before the meeting begins. Note that our regular hours on Tuesdays are 10 AM - 8 PM; the shoppe lounge will be open after regular hours for pipe club members only. We have an agreement with the church across the street for overflow parking, and greatly appreciate our guests who are planning to stay awhile using the overflow parking area when it is available
All adults with a curiosity about pipes are invited. Newcomers to the hobby are strongly encouraged to visit. Club members are enthusiastic to warmly welcome new faces and to share knowledge with you, regardless of your experience!
Baltimore Briar Pipe Club founder Aaron Salter first started smoking cigars in 2015 and became interested in pipes and pipe tobacco as he spent more time smoking. He finally decided to try pipe smoking and ordered a Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob pipe and picked up pipe tobacco from a local shop. Aaron began as most new pipe smokers do, with an aromatic. He wasn't impressed by this blend but decided to try something other than an aromatic. Once he started smoking McClelland Virginia's, he never turned back. In the summer of 2017, Aaron wanted to join a local pipe club to learn more and become a more proficient pipe smoker. Unfortunately, many of the pipe clubs were either too far or unresponsive to his request. The idea of starting a pipe club never occurred to him until he reached out to The Humidour and they mentioned they would be open to the idea. Aaron worked with his wife, Sarah, to create a name and logo for the pipe club, along with topics and preferred pipe tobacco for the shop. The Baltimore Briar Pipe Club was officially launched in July 2017 and was a hit from the very beginning. Aaron and Mike Thomas (along with many other members) work hard to meet the members' needs and spark conversation at each meeting.
You can contact the organizers of the club via their Facebook Page. They'd love to hear from you!
